Bosk: Faith in Leeuwarden. How do we become enriching for the earth, instead of a burden?
What is Arcadia's Bosk?
For a hundred days, the city center of Leeuwarden was colored green. Between May 7th and August 14th, more than 100 trees 'strolled' through the city of Leeuwarden. The forest was (quite literally) set in motion by hundreds of participants and volunteers who have given the trees- and therefore nature- a voice. With a loaded program with exhibitions, performances, and meetings, publications in various online and offline magazines, newspapers, TV, radio, council meetings, and even a lawsuit for the rights of nature, Bosk has drawn attention to the need to look at the relationship between man and nature in a new light.
The Assignment
For the first part of the assignment I photographed portraits and atmospheric images, and for the second part i teamed up with my classmate to make a fantasy video, where I shot the video, and my partner mostly edited it. The school assignment was very open to interpretation and we had lots of creative freedom to come up with concepts, so I decided to capture Bosk in a magical and mysterious way. I took portraits and in addition to that, i took photos of the model's surroundings to capture the mystical atmosphere. I edited these in Adobe Lightroom CC and Photoshop.
For the second part of the project, i made a fantasy fairytale video with my classmate. I captured everything with my camera on a gimbal, and my project partner edited the video.
